Collaborative Practice is an interest-based settlement process for separating, divorcing, and co-habiting couples,
establishing agreements outside of court. Specially trained family lawyers, financial and mental health professionals
work collaboratively in teams to support your family to resolve legal and family issues arising from the separation,
including the creation of a parenting plan. The collaborative process offers opportunities for families to define what
matters most to them while working within a process of full disclosure and mutual respect.
Clients sign a Participation Agreement outlining their commitment to the process, which allows them to engage in
settlement meetings, while working in good faith.
As Family Professionals, we work with parents to explore strong emotions that can stand in the way of sustainable
settlements. We support, guide, and educate parents, as well as lawyers, on the complexities that arise from family
systems. As a collaborative team, we work together to create a respectful and meaningful process for you.
